Members register their birthday, and on the day the bot posts an announcement and can hand them a temporary role. Members register themselves, so you never have to collect the dates.

Setting it up

Navigate to in the dashboard.

How members register

Two routes, and both write the same record:
  • /birthday set with a day and month
  • The opener, a message with a button that you post to a channel. Members who would never run a slash command will click a button.
/birthday remove deletes their entry. /birthday view shows one member’s, and /birthday list shows the upcoming ones. Only the day and month are stored. Members are not asked for a year, so no age is recorded.

The birthday list

The dashboard’s tab shows every registered birthday, upcoming first, with search and the ability to add, edit, or remove an entry on somebody’s behalf. Ordering is by how soon the next celebration is, not by calendar date, so December birthdays do not sit at the bottom for eleven months of the year. A birthday on 29 February is celebrated on 28 February in years that do not have one, rather than being skipped for three years at a time.

Required permissions

Registering your own birthday needs no permission. Either config key also grants the list, so staff who already manage birthdays do not need a second grant to keep seeing it.
