Heimdall provides slash commands for all standard moderation actions. Each action creates an infraction record and notifies the affected member via direct message where possible.

Warn

Issues a warning to a member. The warning is recorded as an infraction with an optional point value. If a point value is not specified, it defaults to 1. The warned member receives a DM containing your server name, the reason, and the point value assigned.

Ban

Bans a member from the server. Works on members who have left the server as well.

Unban

Removes a ban from a user.

Kick

Removes a member from the server. They can rejoin with an invite link. Kicking records an infraction.

Mute

Applies a Discord timeout to a member, preventing them from sending messages or joining voice channels for the specified duration.

Purge

Bulk-deletes messages from the current channel. Two modes are available:
  • count - Delete the most recent count messages (up to 100).
  • time - Delete all messages sent within the last duration (e.g. 1h).
The optional user filter limits deletion to messages from a specific member. Discord limits bulk deletion to messages younger than 14 days.

Infraction notification DMs

When Heimdall punishes a member, it attempts to send them a DM explaining the action, the server it happened in, and the reason. If the member has DMs disabled, the bot silently skips the notification. Using the silent flag suppresses the DM regardless.
