The invite tracker records which invite each new member used, credits the person who created it, and keeps a running total per member. It also adds placeholders you can use in your welcome message.

Before you start

Invite tracking needs the Manage Server permission. Discord only shows invite use counts to bots that have it, and those counts are the only way to tell which invite somebody joined with. Without it the feature switches itself off rather than recording partial data, and the dashboard shows a button that walks you through granting it. If you would rather not give the bot Manage Server, leave invite tracking off. Nothing else is affected. Tracking also only counts joins from the moment you enable it. Discord does not say who used an invite in the past, so a link that already has 40 uses cannot have those 40 people credited to anyone. Future joins on that same link are credited normally.

Setting it up

Navigate to in the dashboard and turn on Track invites. That also adds /invites to your server. Optionally set a join log channel, which gets a line for each join saying who invited them.

How the total is worked out

Each subtraction is a switch, because other invite bots disagree about them. Turn off people who leave do not count if you think nobody should lose credit for who stays. Two details worth knowing:
  • Fake is judged at join time and never re-judged. A member who was new when they joined stays counted as fake. Otherwise every total would quietly drift upward as accounts aged, and somebody would eventually be accused of losing invites they never lost.
  • Rejoins do not count twice by default. Leaving and rejoining on one invite is the easiest way to inflate a count and needs no second account. The rejoin is still recorded and visible in , it just adds nothing.

Commands

Every reply is private to whoever ran it. A leaderboard does not ping the people on it.

Welcome message placeholders

Add these to your welcome message: If the inviter cannot be worked out, these render “unknown” and the welcome message still sends.

When the bot cannot tell

This happens, and it is not a fault. Each case is shown in the join log rather than hidden:

Required permissions

Bonus is the only number here a person can invent, so it has its own key and every adjustment records who made it and why.
